How can I use this site to make travel plans?

Toursbyme.com is dedicated to provide unique experiences lead by local guides. It offers the opportunity to connect tourists directly with locals.

How can I be sure of what I'm buying?

If your tour guide cancels your tour, we will refund your full purchase. Additionally, all of our tours and tour guides carry user ratings, to aid in your decision.

What happens after I buy?

You will receive an email containing the details of when and where to meet your tour guide, as well as a confirmation code for your reservation.

How much does it cost?

It is free to post tours. Tour operators receive 85% of their gross sales. The rest goes to Toursbyme.com to handle the administration of the site and credit card fees.

What kind of tour should I make?

Do what you know. Your everyday life is probably interesting to someone who lives on the other side of the world. If you need more inspiration, here are a few ideas we had:

How much should I charge?

We recommend that basic walking tours with no outside costs be priced between $8 and $20 per person. Obviously, local market conditions demand will alter pricing.

Does toursbyme.com accept tours from everywhere?

Almost. We hope to serve as much of the world as possible with our services. There are a few caveats:

When/How do I get my money?

Tour revenues become available one week after the date of the tour. Toursbyme.com will typically print and mail checks if the member requests it AND their account balance is equal to or greater than $30. This also applies to payments made through the PayPal service. All amounts are stated in and all payments will be made in US funds

You can withdraw money from your account by making a transfer to a PayPal account or requesting a check. PayPal and transfers carry a fee of $10 USD.

For legal reasons, we cannot send payments of any kind to the following countries: Burma, Cuba, Iran, N. Korea, Sudan, Syria.

What happens if I want to cancel a tour?

If a tour has not been booked yet, simply change the available schedule. If a tour has already been booked, the attendee will be refunded completely for the price of the tour and you will be charged an additional cancellation fee according to the following schedule:

Can I conduct the same tour multiple times on the same day?

Absolutely. You can also charge different prices for the same tour depending on the time slot.

What if people don’t show up for my tour?

You will still receive payment for the booked tours. If there is a dispute between an attendee and a tour operator, we will do our best to settle it equitably. For further information on disputes, please see our terms of service.

Can I sell my tours outside of toursbyme.com?

Sure, just don’t promote those other methods on our site. If someone contacts you about your tour because of our website, have them use toursbyme.com to complete their booking. It is a violation of our terms of service to use our site to redirect users to alternate booking methods.

What is not allowed?

It is prohibited to use your postings on this site to promote alternative methods of payment or booking services. This does not bind the seller exclusively to toursbyme.com However outside booking services or payment gateways must be processed without use of this site or any of its components

It is prohibited to upload, post, share, email or otherwise transmit or communicate any material that is obscene, offensive, blasphemous, pornographic, unlawful, threatening, menacing, abusive, harmful, an invasion of privacy or publicity rights, defamatory, libelous, vulgar, illegal

Or any material that you do not have a right to transmit or communicate under any contractual or fiduciary relationship or which infringes any copyright, trade mark, patent or other intellectual property right or any moral right of any party

Toursbyme.com may at any time without notice terminate your account and delete or modify any content stored in your account if, in our discretion, you fail to comply with any of these terms.

How will I know who my tour attendees are?

About a day before the tour is to begin, we will send you a list of the tour attendees. In addition, your attendees will be provided a confirmation number, which they should use to check-in.
